Alejandra Mateo-Flandorfer

I was born and raised in Madrid, Spain, however at 14 I had the amazing opportunity to attendĀ boarding school in the UK. I developed my love for British culture whilst I was there for two years, and when it was time to choose a university I decided to attend Durham University. I studied applied psychology, which has doubtlessly helped me very much during my tutoring career.

The subject I have tutored most has been Spanish, particularly at IGCSE level. I believe this is the syllabus that I am most confident in and have the most experience with.

My tutoring approach is simple and straightforward, I try to help my students develop the confidence they need to be able to bring out their full potential. I am very friendly, fun, and easy going. I try to make the lessons very interactive, where a lot of conversation takes place so they may loosen up and feel confident about the language. I prefer not to waste class time on writing on their own, so I tend to send simple assignments to do by themselves for our next lesson, and then we correct them together in the lesson.

I enjoy tutoring very much, and have always had a positive experience with all my students. We have set ambitiousĀ but achievable goals, and I believe both them and me have always been happy with the results.
