Amy Longley

I have more than 16 years’ primary teaching experience. I have taught children aged between 4 – 11 years old in both independent and state schools. During this time, I have had experience of administering independent school GL assessments and selective tests. I teach all the primary subjects from EYFS to Year 6 and during this time I was an English and Humanities Lead.

I have several years of experience tutoring pupils up to Year 10. I predominately tutor pupil’s age 7-11 in English, maths, reasoning and to help to prepare them for entrance examinations. In addition, I have thoroughly enjoyed tutoring younger pupils’ phonics and early reading. I have an excellent track record as a tutor and pupils tend to stay with me for a long time. I am skilled in communication, building strong relationships and use a variety of teaching methodologies to keep pupils engaged. As a tutor, I believe in focusing on the needs of the individual, breaking learning down, using interactive resources and essentially I believe that building each pupil’s confidence is key.
