I have been working as a teacher for 8 years now and have found that what I enjoy most is installing a sense of confidence and enjoyment in my lessons. I firmly believe that in order for a child to succeed, they must first feel comfortable with their environment and how they learn, then being able to explore their subject matter more in depth. I am well known amongst my colleagues for being a patient tutor who succeeds in plugging gaps in learning whilst making this enjoyable and something to look forward to.
In addition to being a classroom teacher, I have also undertaken an MA in special needs as this was of interest to me. I understand that each child learns at their pace and in their own way and so tapping into this has given me the skills to access how children approach different tasks and how to encourage an inquisitive approach. I have a wide range of experience with children with SEN and enjoy learning from them immensely.
I am able to teach English and Maths from KS1 to KS2 and English up to GCSE level. I also prepare students for entrance exams for selective schools at 7+ to 11+. I am able to understand how difficult school entrance exams can be having sat them myself as a child.
